Noise to Signal Ratio*
Is it me, or is there a lot more static than sound coming through the channels these days?
From an email from a friend I received a few days ago which contains a lot of words but very minimal content, to this catchy but almost-content-free song that, for whatever reason, is amazingly popular here in Indonesia. Oh yeah, don’t forget the number of inane questions asked to relatives of the recent Jakarta bombing victims in TV interviews.
Is this a recent phenomena or has it always been like this?
Or is this me - observing things from some alternate/tangential space from everybody else?

Wow that is one freaky song. If it gets stuck in my head I’m blaming you. Is it really popular? Maybe it’s one of those things where it’s so bad it’s good.

@dregar..
It’s so popular that the telco providers have decided to offer it as ring back tone (RBT), thereby granting the song writer (i.e. Mbah Surip) a humongous amount of royalty money (Rp. 4.5 milyar? something like that).
Cool huh?
And yeah, this song falls under the category of “it’s so bad, it’s good”. Heheheh..
